We operate on an appointment only system. Please contact the practice via telephone or in person to make an appointment. Urgent cases will be seen on the day. We endeavour to ensure you see the doctor of your choice, but if they are unavailable we may request you see another doctor.
If you feel your consultation might take more than 15 minutes you should request a longer appointment. Please let us know if you cannot keep your appointment as this will allow others who are waiting to get an appointment.
Missed appointments are very frustrating for everyone and repeat occurrences may attract a no show/cancellation fee.
Note: Please do not wait until you are almost out of your medication before requesting a new script!
Prescriptions may be written without an appointment if you have seen the doctor recently and have previously been prescribed the medication.
Telephone your requirements to see if this is possible. If so the script may be available to be collected the next working day or it may be sent as an e-script if this service is active for the patient.
There will be a fee for this service. Otherwise an appointment will be necessary.
Repeat prescriptions will not be issued for drugs of dependence such as benzodiazepines, narcotics and other sedatives without an appointment. Examples include: Panadeine Forte, Endone, Oxycodone, Targin, Temazepam, Diazepam/Valium.
Note: Please do not wait until you are almost out of your medication before requesting a new script!
Fees are based on length of consultations and/or procedure performed.
While some consultations are bulk-billed we are not a bulk-billing practice.
Patients are asked to pay for their visit in full on the day. Exceptions are sometimes made. Full pensioners and healthcare card holders may be charged the Medicare rebate for in-hours consultations with possible additional fees for some procedures in our rooms and for out-of-hours.
We have EFTPOS & Medicare Easyclaim facilities and will lodge all Medicare claims on your behalf; the rebate if applicable, will be reimbursed to you directly from Medicare.
*Requests for script repeats will go to your usual doctor. It is at your doctor’s discretion to request a consultation with you before repeating scripts.
** No Show / Cancellation Fees are at the discretion of the Practice. For repeat occurrences the Practice reserves the right to request the patient settle all no show/cancellation fees and outstanding amounts in advance of any future bookings.
You are requested to ring the clinic for details of test results. When the doctor has seen the results they will write a comment for our reception team to relay to patients. Reception staff are only authorised to pass on the doctors comments. If further elaboration is required an appointment will need to be booked.
If you have consented to receiving text messages from the practice you may also receive a text message asking you to contact the practice to arrange an appointment to discuss your results.
This practice uses a computerised recall and reminder system. Relevant patients will be notified about suggested follow-up tests and or visits, this may be via phone or via text if you have consented to receiving text messages from the practice.
If you do not wish to participate in this recall and reminder system you should advise your doctor.
Please be advised that we have temporarily placed a pause on accepting patients to ascertain our capacity. Priority will be given to local patients who do not currently have a GP in Benalla
